Would you like to contribute to the safer use of vaccines and medicines globally? We are looking for a Project Leader within our product portfolio.
Be part of a team that builds software with a purpose.

Since 1978, Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) has been dedicated to developing, supporting, and expanding the field of pharmacovigilance science and practice.

As a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre, we support work around the world to examine the potential adverse effects of medicines and vaccines and contribute to safer, more informed care of patients.

We are a diverse, international group of pharmacists, physicians, data scientists, system developers, communicators, and many other professionals motivated by a deep belief that the work we do matters.

About the role

We are seeking a Project Leader to join our Product Management section.
You will report to the Head of Product Management.

As a Project Leader, you will plan, organize and lead projects within our two product portfolios as well as line projects, ensuring delivery according to agreed scope, time and objectives.
You will work closely with Product Managers, project team members and internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes throughout the product lifecycle.
You will also contribute to product management and customer support activities depending on priorities and skills.

You will act as a leader within the organisation and contribute to a positive working environment while promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and customer focus.

What you will do

  • Plan, organise and lead projects to meet project goals and objectives, ensuring execution according to agreed scope, time and budget (if applicable)
  • Report project status, escalate issues, and prepare project manager–owned deliverables for gate decisions
  • Deliver project results to the Sponsor, hand over outcomes to internal receivers, and communicate lessons learned
  • Coach and support the project team in day-to-day work, handling problems and resolving conflicts
  • Coordinate resource needs and maintain contact with resource owners
  • Be responsible for internal and external project communication
  • Where applicable, support Product Managers in onboarding, promotion and launch activities
  • Draft content for training, educational, promotional or marketing material, and support webinars or other launch activities when needed
  • Provide feedback on user perceptions, regulatory trends and other changes that may guide strategic direction and portfolio decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement into our processes and way of working.

Who you are

  • University or college degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in life sciences, engineering, pharmacy, chemistry or similar
  • Experience of leading projects 2-3 years, preferably in a software or digital (incl SaaS solutions) product context in an agile setting.
  • Experience from the pharmaceutical, CRO or life sciences industry is an advantage
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment is an advantage.

As a person, we would like you to have:

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide teams towards common goals
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain, inspire, listen and translate user needs into action
  • A structured and analytical approach, combined with flexibility in a dynamic environment
  • A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
  • A clear focus on quality and user satisfaction

We will review applications and interview candidates continuously, and may hire before the closing date.
